About This Role:
We are in search of an experienced spacecraft GNC engineer to join our tightly integrated team. In this role, you will lead the design of the GNC system, encompassing both hardware and software, to fulfill the position, attitude, knowledge, and stability requirements of our bus.

You will have the opportunity to engage in a clean sheet design approach, shaping coupled trades across the vehicle architecture. Your innovative mindset will drive design and performance enhancements, making a significant impact on the industry. This position reports directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the GNC system, managing components for position determination and those utilized by the Attitude Determination and Control System.
  • Inform spacecraft design trades to ensure comprehensive fulfillment of all GNC-related requirements.
  • Define requirements for subcomponents and oversee supplier downselection to align with top-level system requirements.
  • Develop pertinent algorithms, simulations, and models for spacecraft to validate performance criteria.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish hardware-in-the-loop simulations for testing and qualification.
  • Participate in customer and internal design reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in spacecraft GNC work.
  • Experience across various spacecraft programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating within an organization and articulating decisions, directives, and conclusions to diverse audiences.
  • Extensive background in spacecraft design, launch, and operation, spanning all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in integrated software/hardware verification and testing.
