EVONA have partnered with a Aerospace & Defense leader and are urgently on the lookout for a Sr. Director of Business Development who has successfully secured USG contracts. We are looking for a heavy hitter. If you're a motivated and experienced professional with a successful track record in business development within the aerospace and defense industry, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand our presence in the federal government and DOD sectors.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, emphasizing prime contracts, subcontracting opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential partners in the federal government and defense industry.
- Lead the capture process for targeted opportunities, from identifying opportunities to proposal submission and contract award.
- Manage growth efforts within budget to achieve five-year aggressive sales plan.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, program managers, and technical teams, to devise winning strategies and proposals.
- Provide market intelligence and analysis to guide business strategy and decision-making.
- Represent our company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to showcase our capabilities and uncover potential business opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven success in identifying, pursuing, and winning prime contracts and subcontracting opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the aerospace and defense industry, with a focus on federal government and DOD contracts.
- Strong understanding of the federal procurement process, including familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations and contract vehicles (e.g., IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the capability to develop and execute business development plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- 30%-50% travel required.
