We are seeking a talented, experienced Localization + Perception SW Responsible Engineer to define the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement sophisticated localization, perception, and mapping systems for lunar rovers
- Implement state-of-the-art techniques in sensor fusion for enhanced system accuracy
- Develop algorithms for terrain mapping and obstacle detection to facilitate effective path planning
- Lead integration efforts with rover hardware, ensuring seamless operation in lunar environments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align system designs with mission objectives
- Oversee testing and validation of systems through simulations and field trials
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Utilize project management skills to coordinate engineering support and ensure project milestones are met
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotic Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in localization, perception, sensor fusion, and mapping technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, and experience with ROS
- Experience in research and development of perception and localization in unstructured/off-road environments
- U.S. Person
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
- Prior experience with space robotics or autonomous systems
- Experience developing algorithms for resource-constrained systems
- Published research or contributions to open-source projects relevant to localization and perception
- Leadership experience and project management skills
