Director of Business Development
The role within Impulse Space's business development team involves securing business opportunities for the company's orbital transfer and hosting products. You will be responsible for driving commercial initiatives, including identifying potential clients and closing deals. While support will be provided in proposal development, we seek a self-motivated individual eager to make a significant impact on Impulse's commercial endeavors.
Responsibilities:
- Identify target commercial customers and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
- Lead commercial business development, from target identification to negotiation and closure.
- Represent the company at various forums, from trade conferences to executive meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of the commercial satellite market, particularly in GEO.
- Proven ability to initiate and finalize commercial contracts.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Collaboration experience with technical teams for proposal development.
- Willingness to travel as required (20-40%).
- 5+ years of sales experience in aerospace or related industries.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- Advanced degree in a technical field and/or an MBA.
- Familiarity with GEO telecom market or emerging trends in micro-GEO.
- Knowledge of GEO/GTO launch services or cis-lunar commercial applications.
Additional Information:
Compensation is determined based on role, level, location, and market alignment. Along with base salary, full-time hires may be eligible for long-term incentives like stock options and access to medical, vision & dental coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
