Chief Technical Officer

Position: CTO - Rocket Design and Development

Location: Paris – Hybrid 2 or 3 days on site

Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional CTO with a proven track record in end-to-end rocket/ propulsion systems design and development, spanning various rocket types including jets, missiles, and hypersonic technologies. The ideal candidate will possess not only technical expertise but also exceptional leadership skills to manage cross-functional engineering teams and inspire excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Your Mission:
As CTO, your primary mission is to advance the initial prototype design to full-scale development, testing, and successful launch within a two-year timeframe. Our goal is to create a platform capable of accommodating multiple payloads for low earth orbit, with a target of up to 50 launches annually.

Reporting directly to other C-suite/ board members, you will lead a team a team of 6 managers covering Propulsion, Fluids, Operations, Mission Analysis, Structural/Mechanical, Test, and Systems. Under your direct reports, a broader engineering team of around 90 individuals will execute the vision you set forth.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead the strategic direction and execution of new prototype rockets, overseeing design, build, operation, and roadmap.
Provide oversight across the full lifecycle design and development, ensuring alignment with overarching company goals.
Collaborate closely with the cross-functional teams to optimize the rocket's functionality and performance.
Manage budgets, create roadmaps, and oversee operational aspects of the project.
