This role is based in Blacksburg, VA, reporting directly to the President of the Space and Defense Group, and is a key position on the Leadership Team.
Position Overview
The Group Vice President of Power and Data will lead the division’s strategic vision, ensuring its alignment with broader enterprise objectives. Responsible for profit and loss management, the successful candidate will oversee budgets, long-term planning, and resource allocation while driving innovation, growth, and operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity to influence not only the division’s financial performance but also its people and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth and profitability strategy, leveraging competitive advantages and innovative business models.
- Talent Management: Build a high-performing leadership team, conducting talent reviews, coaching, and aligning performance to achieve results within a values-based culture.
- Financial Stewardship: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial updates, ensuring delivery of fiscal commitments and clear communication to the executive leadership team.
- Customer Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders in the defense, space, and government sectors to ensure program success and identify new opportunities.
- Collaborative Decision-Making: Partner with cross-functional teams to influence strategic decisions and deliver value across the organization.
- Communication Excellence: Demonstrate clear and compelling communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
What You’ll Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required; an advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Experience: At least 10 years of management and leadership experience in business or engineering disciplines.
- Leadership & Team Building: Proven success in building and guiding high-performing teams and fostering strong interpersonal relationships across organizations.
- Strategic Insight: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that drive growth and profitability.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to handle disagreements constructively and engage diverse audiences effectively.
