Mechanical Design Engineer

I am currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be responsible for designing, analysing and developing small satellites and space products, providing mechanical engineering leadership on platform projects ensuring delivery of those projects to cost, quality, safety and time parameters.

The successful candidate will have:
– Experience in designing Satellites / Cubesats
– Experience in Solidworks
– Experience at supporting projects in their infancy e.g. PDR to CDR
–¬†Ability to validate designs by analysis (structural/thermal
РExperience designing for manufacture, assembly and test. 

This is an initial 4 month project and although it is fully remote, you do need to be based in the UK.

Satellite Operations Engineer

Key Responsibilities: 

  • The purpose of the role is to lead commissioning phases for new missions as well as ensuring normal operations for existing missions in line with cost, quality, safety, and time parameters.¬† The role also contributes towards design of mission-specific ground segments, preparing operation plans, as well developing/improving procedures & tools.¬†
  • Deliver work tasks and assignments in accordance to required standards and compliance requirements¬†¬†
  • Application of functional and technical expertise to meet compliance requirements¬†
  • Ownership of satellite operations work packages in accordance with standards and compliance requirements¬†
  • Drive the first weeks of our satellites‚Äô lives through planning, preparation, and execution of the commissioning phases¬†
  • Analyse data and investigate in-orbit anomalies, solving problems both individually and through collaboration with other engineering disciplines¬†
  • Ensure nominal operations of existing missions and help improve existing processes¬†
  • Support the design of mission specific ground segment systems for service and data delivery¬†
  • Develop documentation and processes in according to regulations and licence requirements¬†

 
Skills required:

GNC Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced AOCS Engineer to join a  Engineering team in Glasgow. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in designing, implementing, and testing attitude and orbital control sub-systems (AOCS) and algorithms for small satellite missions. Your contributions will directly impact project success within defined parameters of cost, quality, safety, and time.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, model, implement, and test attitude and orbit control systems for nano and small satellites.
  • Translate top-level specifications into AOCS requirements.
  • Facilitate the transition from system requirements to space-ready products.
  • Integrate software with other hardware and/or software modules.
  • Conduct validation and verification tests.
