Satellite Platform Electrical Systems Engineer
We’re looking for a Platform Electrical Systems Engineer to join a forward-thinking team developing a new generation of telecommunications satellites. This role focuses on the power and electrical infrastructure of the satellite platform — covering everything from interface design to radiation analysis and system-level testing.
If you're a systems-minded electrical engineer with experience in space power generation, distribution, and failure analysis, this is your chance to make a lasting impact on next-gen satellite architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-
Manage electrical interface documentation for power, analog, digital, and RF subsystems
-
Analyze and support the design of power generation, storage, and distribution systems
-
Perform FMEAs and contribute to failure detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) strategies
-
Prepare and review test plans, procedures, and reports for platform-level validation
-
Conduct ionizing radiation analyses including total dose and single event effects (SEE)
-
Create systems engineering documents such as requirement specifications, compliance statements, verification matrices, and design descriptions
-
Contribute to satellite concept of operations and payload integration activities
-
Participate in major program milestone reviews: EQSR, SRR, PDR, and CDR
What You’ll Bring:
-
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
-
5+ years of experience working on spacecraft electrical systems
-
Solid understanding of power systems at the platform level, including generation, storage, and distribution
-
Background in electrical systems engineering, including experience with unit design, harnessing, data bus standards, and system-level testing
Nice to Have:
-
Knowledge of space environments, RF equipment, and power subsystem technologies including solar arrays and batteries
-
Experience mentoring or leading junior engineers
-
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional team
-
Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of French is a plus
