Lunar Geologist (Selenologist)

As a Selenologist you will lead the charge in exploring extraterrestrial resources, specifically focusing on the geological analysis of the Moon's surface. Working within a collaborative team of space engineers, data analysts, and environmental scientists, your primary goal is to ensure the sustainable and ethical extraction of lunar resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct remote and potentially insitu surveys using various geological, geochemical, and geophysical techniques.
  • Analyze satellite imagery, manage robotic drilling rigs, and evaluate samples for valuable minerals, metals, and gases.
  • Integrate findings with proprietary software to model extraction processes and predict the feasibility and impact of mining operations.
  • Utilize proficiency in geological modeling and analysis software, GIS tools, and programming languages like C#, C, and C++.
  • Employ remote sensing techniques, statistical analysis software, and database management for data interpretation and resource estimation.
  • Stay abreast of current research in lunar geology, mineralogy, and advancements in the field of selenology.
  • Collaborate with IT specialists to enhance data collection and analysis methods, including the application of machine learning for predictive modeling.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in geological modeling and analysis software, as well as GIS tools.
  • Experience with remote sensing techniques and data interpretation.
  • Strong programming skills, specifically in C#, C, C++.
  • Familiarity with database management and statistical analysis software.
  • Knowledge of lunar geology, mineralogy, and current research in selenology.
  • Ability to collaborate with IT specialists to enhance data collection and analysis methods, including machine learning applications for predictive modeling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, Planetary Science, or related field with a focus on lunar or planetary geology.
  • 3+ years of experience in geological exploration, preferably with extraterrestrial geology experience.
  • Publications in peerreviewed journals or presentations at significant conferences in planetary geology preferred.

Spacecraft Engineer

I am looking for a Senior Spacecraft Engineer to work onsite in LA.

You will be involved in designing satellite components, subsystems and architecture. You will model and design satellite avionics and electromechanical subsystems. You will also be involved in thermo-mechanical and orbital analysis.

The ideal candidate would be highly educated and have a minimum of 2 years industry experience. That experience can be varied but within spacecraft design, build or analysis would be perfect.
