Flight Software Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain flight software for spacecraft systems used in various satellite missions.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless software-hardware integration for their standardized satellite platform.
  • Design and implement software for embedded systems and real-time applications in a demanding space environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive software testing and verification to ensure mission safety and reliable operation.

Flight Software Engineer Requirements:

  • Experience coding in C++ and Assembly language (or relevant experience).
  • Knowledge of spacecraft systems, flight dynamics principles, and communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems development.
  • Experience with software development tools like Git, Make, and debuggers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar disciplines.

A company based just outside of LA is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. With their focus on space sustainability they have won a number of exciting contracts and this is an excellent time to join them and establish yourself in their growing team.

This is a varied role working on tool design & selection, process creation, design for manufacturing, quality planning and supplier management.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

  • Develop tooling solutions for assembly and fabrication.
  • Break down complex assemblies to develop process flows.
  • Write work instructions, quality and inspection plans and requirements.
  • Work with contract manufacturers to develop smooth processes that support fast development.
  • Build prototype hardware and contribute to design efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience working on the manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware.
  • US citizenship is required for this position.
  • Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance, or ability to obtain.

What you will do:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Maintain the security and health of our AWS environment by implementing best practices and security updates.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to optimize resource configurations and prevent unexpected costs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including satellite operators, sales, and analytics product software, to resolve project and customer-related issues.
  • Set up and monitor alarms in our cloud environment to ensure continuous reliability.
  • Enhance existing processes and contribute to documentation improvements.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's products, support, and services.

What you will need:

  • API development expertise (HTTP/REST).
  • 2-3 years of experience with Kubernetes.
  • 3+ years of Linux Systems administration experience.
  • Proficiency in cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Competence in Python or Go programming languages.
  • Experience with software version control systems.
  • Knowledge of pipeline tools such as FluxCD or Argo.
  • Ability to obtain or currently possess US Security Clearance.

What it would be great if you also had:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS IAM and security measures.
  • Current Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Developer certifications.
  • Familiarity with Helm Chart deployment.
  • Strong “Infrastructure as Code” mindset.
  • Experience with SIEM and log monitoring tools like Datadog or Splunk.
