Facilities Maintenance Technician (Part Time)
San Diego, California
Part-Time (20-24 hours per week)

I am working with a cutting edge, Space company who are focused on technology advancement for high-reliability space sub systems.

They design & manufacture cost-effective, radiation-hardened systems and have a proven history supplying the sector.

Responsibilities: 
  • Perform General Facility Maintenance repairs and adjustments.
  • Perform simple machine maintenance such as lubrication, simple repair, and adjustments, when needed.
  • Performs painting, carpentry, concrete and masonry work, hang white boards, repair doors etc.
  • Performs simple plumbing maintenance. on kitchen sinks, and bathroom equipment 
  • Performs simple electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures, laps outlets etc.
  • Communicate and coordinate with property management company and other vendors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. without assistance.
  • General knowledge of electrical and plumbing as well as mechanical repairs. 

Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Prefer one or more years of construction trade school and/or formal training on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and / or electrical systems. Higher education experience desired.
  • 3+ years of experience in general facility maintenance and repair with the use of hand and power tools in most of the following areas: drywall, carpentry, plumbing, door maintenance and basic electrical.
  • Experience coordinating the work of maintenance personnel and vendors, and coordinating work schedules, preventative maintenance programs, and spare parts inventories.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work on architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing drawings, schematics, and single line diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently with no supervision.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and good driving record required
  • Must have own proper tools to perform duties listed above.

Salary Range: $20-$30 per hour

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
