Embedded Software Engineer

I am looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to design, code, debug and integrate new capabilities for their new and existing turreted weapons systems, based in Santa Barbara.

Here’s what you’ll be working on day to day: 

– Design, code, debug, and integrate new capabilities for our new and existing turreted weapons systems 
– Debug issues with existing systems.
– Integration of new capabilities both in the Systems Integration Lab and in the field.
– Deliver executable software that meets performance requirements.
– Deliver other software work products (documentation) that meet contractual requirements.
– Provide status reporting to management during project execution.

Here’s what you will need to bring with you:

– Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering desired.  Bachelor of Science degree in other engineering fields, may be considered with appropriate additional experience in the design/development/test of real-time control software.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design/development/test of embedded real-time control software, and about 5 years overall experience in software development
– C language (java a plus)
– OS experience, especially RTOS (bare metal and embedded Linux a plus)
– Experience with communication protocol drivers and stacks (networking, 1553, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.)
– Read and understand electronic part data sheets, electrical schematics, communication protocol documents.
– Behavioral Competencies: innovation, adaptability, decision making, communications, customer focus, building strategic working relationships, energy, initiating action, quality orientation.
– Technical competency required in applied science, data acquisition, diagnostic skills, document creation, and math.
– Experience in Unix internals, low level driver software, communication interface software as well as GUI software is a plus.

Senior Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering support for the design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex electro-mechanical systems. This role is based in Santa Barbara, California. 

Here’s what you’ll be working on day to day: 

  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to generate component and subsystem specifications.
  • Define hardware and software interfaces between subsystems.
  • Develop, test, analyze, and document turret fire control algorithms.
  • Build linear and nonlinear dynamic models and simulations to evaluate system performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for development teams.
  • Support lab and field testing
  • Generate technical documentation (plans, reports)
  • Occasional travel required.

  • BS with an emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing
  • 5 to 10 years industry experience
  • Classical and modern control systems design knowledge

Senior Embedded Software Security Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Security Engineer to design and architect new capabilities for their new and existing turreted weapons systems. Perform assessments and provide design/architectural guidance with the goal of eliminating and/or mitigating cyber vulnerabilities. In addition, design and implement processes and procedures to pro-actively identify and mitigate potential cyber vulnerabilities for embedded systems throughout the product-lifecycle (concept to end-of-life), including risk identification and assessment. Also, to identify opportunities to ensure the continuous robust secure operation of their products in the field. This position is based in Santa Barbara!

 

Here’s what you’ll need to bring with:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering desired. Bachelor of Science degree in other engineering fields, may be considered with appropriate additional experience in the design/development/test of real-time control software

  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Coverity, HP Fortify, Veracode, Black Duck, etc.
  • Strong awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles and techniques.
  • Experience with network security, networking technologies, and network monitoring tools

Systems Engineering Section Head

We are looking for a Systems Engineering Section Head to join one of the worlds best designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components and systems. You will lead a team of 4-6 systems engineers, develop, maintain, and be responsible for the effectiveness of the Turreted Weapon system-level technical solution created to support the customer’s needs, identify and implement strategies that take advantage of synergies across multiple TWS projects or programs, lead major projects, process developments, and proposals that are critical to the success of the business, as well as plenty of other exciting activities!

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with Control Systems experience, preferably with an advanced degree
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience in the field of System Engineering with 5 years leading development projects.
  • Proven capabilities and competencies in Requirements Management, Verification and Validation Methods, Control System Design, Integration, and Test
  • Experience managing projects and teams.
  • Matlab / Simulink knowledge
  • Hands-on experience working with the hardware and software aspects of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Behavioral competencies include innovation and adaptability, communications and collaboration, and building strategic working relationships and customer focus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with military ground vehicle TWS solutions and fire control systems are strongly preferred.
