EVONA is looking for a Staff Propulsion/Fluids Systems Analyst, reporting to the Director of Propulsion, to support the development of the propulsion, life support, and thermal control systems.



  • MethaGox Thrust Chamber analysis to include CFD modeling of film cooling for different sizes of RCS thrusters.
  • Life support system analysis to include CFD of air distribution systems and cabin air volumes
  • Planning and participating in test campaigns, and anchoring analysis with test data
  • Creating and reviewing system models of pressure fed systems and associated tank, valve and line sizing for Propulsion, Life Support and Thermal Control Systems
  • Efficiently developing analysis models with commercially available CFD programs
  • Developing and teaching to other engineers best practices in analysis
  • Presenting analysis for NASA or other certification programs


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience with CFD software packages in industry: Star-CCM+, Fluent, or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience with thermo-hydraulic analysis software packages in industry: SINDA/FLUINT, GFSSP, or equivalent

Flight Software Test Engineer

As a Flight Software Test Engineer, you’ll help lead the development and execution of critical flight software tests and systems.

Flight Software Test Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop SITL and HITL test execution code, and interface with high fidelity physics simulators.
  • Architect and implement automated test frameworks and HITL test fixtures for avionics.
  • Collaborate with Ground Software teams and Responsible Engineers to streamline testing and telemetry.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish unit, integration, and regression tests with continuous integration frameworks.

Flight Software Test Engineer Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience coding in C++ or Python.
  • Experience with continuous build and test environments, CI/CD tools, and issue tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments, embedded systems, and developing software for complex systems like spacecraft or autonomous vehicles.

Flight Software Manager

Flight Software Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop flight software for inflight computers and other critical spacecraft hardware.

Flight Software Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop the full software lifecycle and architecture for flight software systems

Flight Software Engineer Requirements

  • 3+ years experience developing complex embedded systems in Space or related industries (Drones, UAVs, Autonomous Driving etc.)
  • Excellent C/C++ embedded software skills
  • Python knowledge (test, automation, etc.)
  • Experience with ROS, NASA cFS, or MAX is desired

FPGA / Embedded Specialist

We are currently seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in FPGA technology to join our team. 

This is a full-time, exempt position based at our Long Beach facility.


  • Develop and maintain FPGA code for the Haven flight computers and Remote IO computers.
  • Write flight software code for Haven’s flight computers, Remote IO computers, and other flight hardware.
  • Collaborate closely with the avionics hardware team to comprehend the avionics flight hardware design.
  • Configure the Linux kernel, uboot system, kernel device tree, and onboard filesystems required to run our Haven flight software.
  • Configure and develop kernel drivers.
  • Interface with and configure onboard FPGAs and attached devices.
  • Configure RTOS for microcontrollers.
  • Configure system boot sequences.
  • Integrate command and telemetry systems for communication with ground systems and mission operations.
  • Develop flight code implementing GN&C algorithms.
  • Design tests to thoroughly evaluate our flight software and hardware.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience coding in C++/C.

Senior / Principal Thermal Engineer
