Project Manager

Working with a leading European provider of Space Ground Segment systems and services, specializing in Earth Observation, Navigation, Satellite Communications, Space Safety, and Mission Operations. We deliver crucial services and innovative solutions to European and national agencies, scientific institutions, commercial entities, and the general public. 

To facilitate this growth, we are seeking a Project Manager to join our team.

As a Project Manager, you will gain invaluable insights into our ground segment services, infrastructure, and software business, collaborating directly with clients in the Space domain. You will assume end-to-end responsibility for one or more projects, liaising between clients and our internal teams. Your role will encompass managing client expectations, project teams, and ensuring adherence to project schedules, costs, and quality standards. Effective risk, change, supplier, and procurement management will be essential, alongside maintaining quality within the project. Exceptional communication skills in engaging various stakeholders will be paramount. Additionally, you will oversee project monitoring and reporting to both clients and internal management.

Your future duties and responsibilities include:
– Ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables within budget and meeting quality expectations.
– Developing and managing integrated project plans with realistic schedules, budgets, resources, and risk mitigations.
– Engaging with clients to identify needs, opportunities, and driving change.
– Acting as a servant project leader, empowering and enabling the project team.
– Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
– Effectively managing stakeholder relationships with customers and partners.
– Supporting negotiation of contract changes.
– Leading communication and reporting with customers and suppliers.
– Ensuring scope, change, and claim management throughout the project lifecycle.
– Being accountable for planning and executing projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
– Documenting and communicating project progress and status to all stakeholders.

Required qualifications for success in this role:
– Proven track record of managing end-to-end IT, infrastructure, and software projects, preferably in the space domain, for at least 5 years.
– Ability to collaborate closely with technical teams, translating concepts and issues into schedule and cost impacts.
– Experience in implementing and managing project contracts.
– Familiarity with various project management frameworks, including Agile.
– Project Management Certification through PMI, IPMA, or similar.
– Knowledge of space mission systems engineering or MBSE is advantageous.
– Experience in leading diverse multidisciplinary engineering teams.
– Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
– Strong planning, assertiveness, resilience, and a curious mindset.
– Ability to deliver solutions under pressure and within tight timelines.
– Technical proficiency is beneficial.
– Fluency in spoken and written German and English.
