About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Spacecraft Navigation Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on developing cutting-edge spacecraft navigation algorithms for high-profile space exploration projects. This role involves designing and implementing navigation systems, state estimation, and orbit determination to support a variety of space missions, including those focused on lunar exploration and space situational awareness.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for enhancing spacecraft navigation capabilities and ensuring mission success. This position will offer you the opportunity to work on innovative missions that involve advanced space technologies, real-time flight software, and precision navigation.


Key Responsibilities

? Navigation Algorithm Development: Design and implement state estimation, orbit determination, and tracking algorithms
? Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC): Develop and validate GNC algorithms for spacecraft mission support
? Orbit & Sensor Fusion: Work with Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, and real-time estimation techniques for precise navigation
? Simulation & Analysis: Conduct high-fidelity simulations, Monte Carlo analysis, and 6DOF modeling
? Mission Integration: Support real-time flight operations and mission design for spacecraft autonomy
? Cloud & DevOps Integration: Utilize AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines for software optimization and deployment
? Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams on mission design and execution


Required Skills & Experience

? B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
? 8+ years of experience in spacecraft navigation, GNC, or state estimation
? Strong knowledge of Kalman Filtering, Orbit Determination, and Sensor Fusion
? Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and C++ for algorithm development
? Experience in spacecraft simulations, Monte Carlo analysis, and 6DOF modeling
? Linux OS administration, scripting (Bash/Python), and automation
? Experience with cloud tools (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
? Database management (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Neo4j)


Preferred Qualifications

? M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
? Experience with high-performance computing, AI/ML, and autonomy
? Familiarity with AWS security policies, IAM, and Organizations
? Proficiency with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch
? API development and identity management system integration
