We are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our Space client in Houston.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily business and administrative functions of the organization, focusing on enhancing operational procedures for optimal efficiency. The primary objective of the COO is to provide leadership, management, and strategic direction to ensure the company achieves both short-term and long-term goals.


What you will be doing:

Operations Management:
  •  Provide technical leadership at the enterprise level and play a vital role in operations and business development, closely collaborating with the parent company.
  • Assume accountabilities for all aspects of business operations, including Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Contracts, IT, and Safety.
  • Develop objectives and strategies to execute successful programs while optimizing existing systems, organizational structure, meetings, applications, and information.
  • Collaborate with the head of finance to develop, oversee, and monitor the company budget, as well as various financial forecasts, including cash.
  • Coordinate with foreign or domestic partners effectively.
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention.
  • Prepare all required operation reports and correspondence.

 Organizational Development:
  • Lead the development of the company and program strategy.
  • Propose and deliver company goals, successfully executing company initiatives.
  • Maintain continuous understanding and awareness of the business, addressing issues proactively.
  • Work with the head of Human Resources to ensure compliance with HR regulations and develop a talent management methodology.
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, strategy, and hiring levels.
  • Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, vendors, banks, investors, and all other professional business connections.
  • Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of assigned personnel, overseeing hiring, firing, promotions, and assignments.
  • Travel as required based on business needs.

 
We would love to hear from you if you have experience in the following:
 
Experience:
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ related experience required, aerospace industry is a plus.
  • At least five (5) years of proven experience in a senior management level role.


Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.

 
Certifications & Licenses:
  • PMP credential (highly desirable).
