An Earth Observation company is hiring a Director of Business Development to lead U.S. Government sales. This role will own the full sales cycle for EO satellite data contracts, working directly with defense and intelligence agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and convert a federal pipeline for raw satellite imagery sales
- Lead pre-sales, contract negotiation, and post-sale support end-to-end
- Represent the company at defense conferences and agency briefings
- Educate customers on data licensing, tech stack, and procurement path
- Collaborate with internal sales, product, and exec teams
- Close evaluation agreements and long-term data contracts
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the electro-optical satellite data domain
- Proven track record closing large data government contracts
- Deep relationships across NGA, NRO, Space Force, DoD
- Strong technical literacy in EO imaging, comms, and data delivery
- Skilled in licensing, ITAR, DFAR, CRADAs, and RFPs
- Based in D.C. or open to frequent domestic travel
- Confident working solo in a fast-moving, pre-launch environment
This is a high-impact role for someone with a strategic mindset, deep industry relationships, and a passion for space-based data. The right person will have full ownership of the U.S. Government channel and play a key role in driving traction.
