The Proposal Manager will lead bids for competitive business opportunities from the release of requirements/solicitations through contract award. In this role, you’ll prepare compelling, winning proposals that meet or exceed customer requirements and promote the features and benefits of growing earth observation capabilities. The Proposal Manager will work closely with operations, sales, engineering, product and marketing teams. Responsibilities: Collaborate with technical teams to understand, synergize, and explain our current and future capabilities Work with Sales Team to shape customer solicitations while in draft stages. Track and evaluate incoming requests for proposal (RFPs) from multiple customers simultaneously Organize, align and lead the new business proposal writing team with technical and business support drawn from talent across the company. Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure adequate prioritization and resource allocation. Assist in the creation and implementation of win themes that are aligned with direction provided by the sales account manager. Manages and, as needed, performs functions across all phases of the proposal process including planning and budget development, proposal writing, editing production, and delivery. Structure and write technical and non-technical volumes as necessary in the preparation and delivery of compelling offerings; coordinate multiple inputs from various functions Lead non-advocate proposal reviews to critique and sharpen offerings. Manage inputs from across the company, setting and enforcing deadlines and expectations. Ensure proposals comply with customer instructions, requirements and are aligned with objectives. Help maintain the common proposal library, ensuring materials are correct and current Lead and support process-improvement efforts that incorporate best practices learned from actual proposal efforts and operational programs/contracts back into sales and proposal development efforts. Qualifications needed: Must be US citizen Current Top Secret clearance or ability/willingness to pursue a security clearance Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline Ability to synthesize technical requirements from sales & customers into a coherent, persuasive technical solution 3+ years of proposal management experience 3+ years technical writing experience Highly attentive to schedules - on-time deliverables are essential Highly attentive to details with the ability to write directly and succinctly Advanced verbal and written communications skills (technical fluency in English required) Project management experience across multiple, ongoing tasks requiring cross-functional, multi-time zone coordination Intrinsic self-motivation in highly disparate environments juggling multiple assignments Strong collaboration and people skills Based in Northern Virginia / greater DC area (preferred) Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with space-based earth observation or communication systems (development and/or delivery of hardware, software, data and solutions from space or ground segments) Passion for a high-level of customer service and communications Experience with industry-standard proposal writing processes (i.e. Shipley) Experience with US Government (DoD/IC) customer segments and US Government proposal submission systems (i.e. NSF Fastlane)
