Project Manager Masten Space Systems is a Mojave, California based aerospace R&D company that is working to create reliable and reusable rocket vehicles and components. We are looking for a Project Manager to join the team. Location: REMOTE
The scope of the Project Manager position includes:
• You will provide strong Project Management for the development, assembly, test, and verification of innovative space systems.
• You will actively participate in contract review.
• Will own accountability for problem-solving and project risk identification and mitigation actions.
• Will be accountable for the project’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Work Packages (WP) definition
• Will assign the project’s budget for each WP (incl: equipment, workstations, materials, internal hours, external services, etc.)
• Will oversee and manage project costs and cash flow to keep projects within budget.
• Ability to identify and request resources and coordinate those assigned to the project.
• Coordinate, approve and submit purchasing requests to procurement.
• Proactive internal coordination with other PMs and area managers
• Coordination with all external stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, key vendors, or partners.
• Will be responsible for Internal project reporting according to EVMS best practices, including risks and potential collisions with other programs.
• Coordinates external reporting, invoicing, and payments (Schedule and other contractual terms)
• Will review and approve deliverables prior to shipping, including products and/or documentation.
• Ensures milestones remain within contractual terms.
• Oversee any patent application coordination with the legal department.
• Will lead contract change negotiation, initiated by customers, subcontractors, or Masten. Key Requirements:
• 5+ years as PM in space development programs involving propulsion, GNC, fluid control systems, electronics, communications, and GSE, preferably for NASA or ESA.
• Experience applying Agile methodology and test-driven development (TDD)
• PM best practices, including EVMS Knowledge and experience
• Proficiency in typical software tools (MS Project, Office Suite, PLM software, and code version control)
• Familiarity with GD&T, QA.
• Knowledge of problem-solving methodology (AS13000).
