Our client based in Belgium are looking for an experienced Instrument Systems Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very well established but growing space company who are working on some exciting projects.

In this position, you will be the Technical Lead on a space instrument project, throughout its entire life cycle. You will be responsible for understanding and taking higher level technical and scientific requirements (working with external stakeholders), translating them in to design and development requirements, ensuring that proper follow up takes place including traceability and technical scope of the project. You will lead the design and development process, working with other technical disciplines. You ensure that technical coherence of the project is achieved. You plan, coordinate, and take part in the functional and performance test campaigns. You take the lead in technical reviews, technical decision making and managing the technical budget.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• You have a Master’s Degree in Engineering (Physics or similar).
• You have very strong organizational and planning skills.
• You have strong experience in writing technical reports, communication with different teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
• You have good knowledge on the development of space instruments and systems engineering.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• You have fluent English language skills
• You are a pro-active, creative, enthusiastic individual and are a results orientated team plater with excellent planning, organizational and communication skills.
• You are willing to travel frequently.
