Electrical Power Systems Lead – Software Engineer Role
Potential Titles & Levels: Senior, Staff, or Principal Software Engineer
Function & Summary: This role serves as the Software subsystem lead, responsible for overseeing all aspects of embedded software related to the management and monitoring of electrical power systems across our product line. This includes batteries, solar cells, temperature monitoring, core sensors, etc. While primarily a technical lead position, it involves individual contributions and provides opportunities for leadership within cross-functional teams.
Must-haves:
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
Over 5 years’ experience delivering and maintaining commercial software in a production environment
Experience working on embedded software relevant to power management & distribution, ideally within spacecraft, aerospace, or terrestrial applications.
Expertise in engineering clean and maintainable C, C++, and Python code
Expertise in Embedded Linux, preferably including related build systems (Buildroot, Yocto, etc.) and writing drivers
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products on-time and on-budget.
Nice-to-haves:
Xilinx – Ultrascale, Vivado, etc.
Linux expertise, specifically with Buildroot build system.
Boot loaders – u-boot or barebox
