In this role you will help to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.
Responsibilities:
End-to-end ownership of space station power system architectural trades, power and interface budgeting and tracking, functional and technical interface definitions (hardware and software), hierarchical requirements specification, and verification and validation planning and execution
Perform failure modes, effects, and criticality analyses at the system-level to motivate reliability design and validation plans
Lead cross-functional engineering teams to capture system-level operating modes and concepts, requirements, constraints, and behaviors and drive their implementation on the power system
Manage power system deliverables and execute spacecraft-level integration and test
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, or other engineering discipline
5+ years of experience in spacecraft electrical systems
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience with software programming: Matlab, Python, C/C++, etc.
Experience with vehicle and instrumentation buses such as Ethernet, CAN, SPI, and I2C, as well as serial I/O (RS232/422/485)
Experience with full-lifecycle product development
Experience with designing electronics for spaceflight environment, verifying workmanship and operability through environmental test (random vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and TVAC)

Senior Electrical Engineer – Spacecraft Avionics South Bay, LA
Working for one of the most exciting New Space start-up companies around you will help Lead the Design, Development, Integration, and Testing of Avionics Systems.
You will be responsible for the Design and Implementation of high performance, high reliability Avionics and Electrical Systems including Harnessing, batteries and Power Systems, Sensors, Mechanisms, Navigation, Safety Systems, and Flight Computers on demanding timelines.
You will also be on the frontlines of Implementation, collaborating with the team to understand customer requirements and feed those into Vehicle and Architecture Design.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, build, and test avionics systems.
Drive rapid execution and iteration efforts that put hardware in orbit quickly
Foster technical excellence and ownership within the Avionics engineering team by mentoring new team members and setting a high standard for delivering results
Design avionics systems that meet company and mission goals and provide new capabilities for the in-space economy
Negotiate requirements by having a deep understanding of the company and mission objectives and providing alternative solutions
Implement test plans consistent with the risk posture of the mission and own the outcome of test campaigns
Conduct design reviews, test readiness reviews, and flight readiness reviews with a heavy emphasis on technical excellence
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline
3+ years of experience designing complex electrical and/or control systems that operate in harsh environments (autonomous vehicles, drones, spacecraft, etc.)
Capable of maintaining flexibility in direction under changing circumstances
Track record of delivering novel, excellent technical products
Experience managing analysis products and incorporating their feedback into design
