An exciting Autonomy & AI Test Engineer opportunity has just arisen with a global leader in the field of proven and dependable remotely piloted aircraft, tactical reconnaissance radars, and advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

In this position, your responsibilities will include crafting test scenarios, aiding in the establishment of automated testing workflows, providing assistance for Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing endeavors, and offering support during flight tests as required. A vital component of this role involves meticulously documenting any identified issues and effectively communicating with the entire software and hardware stack to expedite issue resolution or establish a path forward for resolution.

This role also entails collaborating with a diverse array of professionals, spanning from technicians and developers to potential engagement with upper management. The purpose is to facilitate the dissemination of discoveries and contribute to the orchestration of comprehensive software and hardware testing, encompassing both aerial and
ground-based evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Autonomy and AI product testing encompassing developing test plans, running testing from lab to live planes, interfacing with customers, and generally being responsible for testing the overall system plus AI-related SW as needed communicating issues to developers.
  • Work with stakeholders through the life cycle creating test plans, test cases, and test execution of software features.
  • Develop concise reports or issues and track them from creation to closing.
  • Work with flight test team to verify the SW is safe to fly on an aircraft and ensure successful flight events.
  • Development of test automation systems and automated test cases.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of systems test concepts, theory, and operations and experience demonstrating those skills.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Ability to develop solutions to a variety of non-routine problems;
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide other employees and managers.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and systems plus how to test them.
  • Familiarity with developing automated tests in SW test frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Python, C++, Java, or equivalent language as it relates to testing and analysis of test results.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Gitlab.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential, as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
